Melrose Monday

I owed my cousin's a couple of gifts and decided to take them on a mini shopping spree, BUT, before the shopping began we made sure to fill'er up at Lala's.

My cousin's didn't know what to order. One was in the mood for pasta and the other for some chicken. I, of course, was in the mood for some meat! Who wouldn't be if you're at an Argentine Grill? I went for my usual order, "Entrana al champignon" (Skirt steak with mushrooms and a side of mashed potatoes). I must say, the lighting was a bit off,  for the picture of my plate,but take a peek at our meals. I very much enjoyed my food, and not to mention the french bread with chimichurri sauce that starts off the party... yum!

We walked up and down Melrose, bought a couple of things but ran into a super cute store filled with Hello Kitty Galore (wallets, shirts, phone covers, artwork, bags, rings, necklaces, watches, and so on and so forth). It wasn't your typical Sanrio store. It's hip and off of Melrose and Fuller. Check it out when you get a chance.

Now I'm off to tend to my pending house chores. I've put them off for way too long.
"Effects of not doing laundry for a month...wearing your boyfriends different colored grandpa socks and only thongs as undies"... Joy to the World :)

FYI

I'm having a hard time getting rid of my hideous habit....that of biting my nails. So, I've decided to wear a glove to prevent my nibbling. Just sad.

The day after Christmas...

This morning i woke up and headed straight to my mother's house. She made me huevos rancheros and they were deeelicious! For those of you who don't know my mother, she's a wonderful cook! Everything she makes is an explosion of flavor in your mouth. It's out of control. This morning she kept it simple because we were in a rush. Anyway, i took a couple of pictures of her prepping our food but forgot to take one of the end result. You'll have to use your imagination, or just wait till she makes this dish again and I remember to capture it through my lens.

Stumbled upon these crazy Dominicans... I love them.

So, I've been browsing several music websites for new artists lately. A couple of my friends and I are starting a production company and I want to keep us on our toes. Anyway, I've stumbled upon several great artists and music videos. My favorite ones are these two from our Dominican friends Maluca and Rita Indiana. I love that they're women and are producing this sort of music that blends the latino flavor with electronica and hip hop... it's delightful! :)
